La Pine Community Church

Pastor Donald & Gaylene Manning

Welcome!

God has called the La Pine Community Church to draw people to His Son so that His creative purpose in every person can be realized. That’s our mission: To help you fulfill life’s purpose.

Behind this mission is our historic and deep commitment to the Gospel of Christ and the inerrancy of Scriptures. Accomplishing this mission will only come as we fulfill the basic responsibilities of every local church: worship, instruction, fellowship and evangelism.

We sense that God has given us a distinct assignment. We’re excited. We invite you to join us as we, together, pursue lives of eternal significance in Christ Jesus.

Our Pastor:

Pastor Don grew up in a rural community near Spokane, Washington named Valleyford. There, he attended the Valleyford Community Church with his family from age 6 into adulthood. It was at vacation Bible school at that church that he first gave himself to Jesus Christ.

Don met his future bride, Gaylene, while they both attended Spokane Community College. They married in 1988 and raised two daughters and a son together. Don worked as a deputy sheriff and served in the Army and later the Air National Guard. He retired from the National Guard in 2009 and from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office in 2014. Thirty days after that, Don and Gaylene moved to La Pine, Oregon as Village Missionaries, serving this community as the pastor of La Pine Community Church.

Don attended the Oregon State Public Safety Chaplain’s Academy in 2018. He currently provides part-time volunteer chaplain services for southern Deschutes and northern Klamath counties when requested by law enforcement or fire agencies.

Don holds an A.A.S. in criminal justice, a Bachelor’s in religion/Biblical studies, and is currently studying towards a certificate in pastoral counseling.
