First Baptist Church of Deer Trail
Jon & Jolene Anderla
This church has been affiliated with Village Missions since 2013.
The church is located in the historic town of Deer Trail which was established as the main shipping point for cattle during the open range cattle era beginning in the mid to late 1800’s and had a strong reputation as a Colorado cowtown. In fact, Deer Trail is recognized as the Home of the World’s First Rodeo held in 1869 and is mentioned in the ProRodeo Hall of Fame.
Historical First Baptist Church was founded in Deer Trail in 1909 and met in the top floor of the Lon Sniff’s Saloon until 1911. The church held a one-hundred anniversary celebration in June of 2009!
